Winter Quarters - play test

The time has come to play test the new 'Vauban, Shandy and Frederick' rules - and the indoor arena of winter quarters suits the close action very well.  So over the hills and far way, to Flanders....

 Scenario

The 'White Lily' army of Observation has retired in the face of the superior Army 'Red Electorate'.

M Le Comte de Pave du Nord has decided to give battle near the ruined abbey of Leffe to slow down the Red advance.  He can therefore gain time for the defences of Hommelbier to be made ready.  He must defend for ten moves – and then retire.  His infantry is commanded by the Jacobite Earl of Bally-go-Backwards – a hasty fellow indeed.

His Grace the Duke of Blankshire must capture Leffe Abbey and destroy as much of the enemy army as possible.  He must protect his vital train and baggage from any damage as he moves to invest Hommelbier...

The Red centre is led by the cautious Brigadier Overly-Random – who must push hard today.

will there be etchings and battlefield sketches of the interior Field of Mars for our delight and edification?

  3. I omitted to say under what gloriously Baroque names your soldiers fight.A splendid conceit indeed.
